We are not a specialist wildlife veterinary surgery, but we try to help with injured wildlife when we can.
Before you bring any wildlife down to the surgery it is very important that you assess your actions carefully. Wildlife is generally not adapted to close contact with humans and handling can lead to severe stress, this may be enough to cause them harm or even death.
Please use the links below to help you decide how best to deal with the situation you find yourself in. In some cases (such as finding baby birds) the best solution may be to do very little, in others the animals are best dealt with at home, and sometimes it is best to contact rescue organisations or the vet.
Don’t rush into actions which will cause distress, increase suffering or even result in the death of the animals you are trying to help.
St Tiggywinkles provide information on Amphibians, Badgers, Bats, Foxes, Hedgehogs and more.
